What's in our bridal collection

Bridal lehengas for the wedding day

The wedding-day pieces are the heaviest, with the most embroidery, and they are the ones most brides start with. How full the skirt is, and how much work is on it, varies a lot across the range. That matters more than you would expect on a day that runs twelve hours or longer. The colours cover the deep reds and magentas many brides picture from the start. They also run through ivory, blush, champagne gold and rose, for anyone who wants something less traditional. Choosing an Indian bridal lehenga is rarely quick, and it should not be. If you want to see only the wedding-day pieces, they sit together in our wedding lehenga collection. And if you are still deciding on a shape, our guide on how to choose a bridal lehenga in Canada covers the questions worth asking before you start trying pieces on.

Reception lehengas and engagement outfits

A reception lehenga is usually lighter than the wedding-day piece, and more modern in shape. Corset tops, mermaid skirts and full gowns all sit in this part of the range. They are made for an evening of standing, greeting and dancing, not for a ceremony. An engagement lehenga is lighter again, and often softer in colour. It is worth choosing all three looks in one visit instead of treating them as three separate decisions. All three end up in the photographs together, and most brides want them to look like they belong together. You will find the full range in reception and engagement wear.

Sharara sets and sarees for the events around the wedding

Not every function needs a full lehenga. A bridal sharara pairs wide, flared trousers with a kurta and dupatta. It moves far more easily than a heavy skirt, which is why it is a common choice for the functions in the days before the wedding. Our sarees include ready-to-wear options that come pre-pleated, so they take minutes to put on instead of half an hour. If you are choosing between two similar shapes, we have written about the difference between a sharara and a gharara. For the rest of the pre-wedding events, browse pre-wedding event outfits.

Shopping for Indian bridal wear in Brampton and across Canada

Sizes, fit and alterations

Raaja Raani stocks lehengas from size 38/40 up to 54/56, and sharara sets from 38/40 up to 54–60. Extended sizes sit inside the main collection, not in a separate corner of the site, and you can browse them in extended sizes. Bridal wear almost never fits perfectly off the rack, and it is not made to. Blouse fit, skirt length and how the dupatta falls are all worth checking against your own measurements before you order. That is the main reason we would encourage you to see a piece in person if you can get to us.

Try it on in store, or order online across Canada

You can order the whole collection online. Shipping is free on orders over $150 CAD across Canada and the US, and free on orders over $100 within Ontario. Most brides still want to see a bridal lehenga in person before they decide, and on a purchase this size we would encourage it.

Our bridal studio is on Ebenezer Road in Brampton, inside the Gore Centre Professional Building. We are open six days a week, from midday until 8pm, and closed on Tuesdays.

Bring the people whose opinion matters to you. Sisters, mothers and friends usually end up part of this decision, and it is easier to have that conversation in person.

For the groom

The wedding is not only about the bride's outfit. Raaja Raani menswear sits alongside the bridal range. A sherwani chosen at the same time as the lehenga is far easier to match than one picked up three weeks before the day. The colour, the amount of embroidery and the overall tone all need to work together in the photographs, and that is much easier to judge with both pieces in front of you. You will find the range in sherwanis and menswear. A groom consultation is booked the same way a bridal one is. If both of you are shopping, book together.

Frequently Asked Questions

What kinds of bridal outfits do you carry?
The bridal collection covers wedding-day lehengas, reception lehengas, engagement outfits and gowns, sharara sets and sarees. Menswear for the groom, including sherwanis, sits in a separate collection so both looks can be browsed side by side. Everything can be ordered online, and the same pieces can be seen in person at our Brampton store. If you would rather have someone do the choosing, book a complimentary one-hour styling session and we will handpick outfits for your vision, silhouette and budget.

Can I buy bridal wear online in Canada?
Yes. The whole bridal collection can be ordered online. Shipping is free on orders over $150 CAD across Canada and the US, and free on orders over $100 within Ontario. If you live outside the Greater Toronto Area and you are planning a visit, it helps to browse online first and note the pieces you want to see. Your appointment can then start with a short list.

What sizes do you carry?
Lehengas run from size 38/40 up to 54/56, and sharara sets from 38/40 up to 54–60. Extended sizes are part of the main bridal collection, not a separate line. Sizing changes with the cut on bridal wear, so it is worth checking the size details on the product page before you order, rather than assuming your usual size will fit. If you are between sizes, book a consultation and we will check the fit in person.

What is the difference between a lehenga, a sharara and a saree?
A lehenga is a full skirt worn with a fitted choli and a dupatta. It is the most common wedding-day choice. A sharara pairs wide, flared trousers with a kurta and dupatta. It is lighter to move in, which is why many brides choose it for the functions before the wedding. A saree is a single length of fabric draped over a blouse and petticoat. Our ready-to-wear sarees come pre-pleated, so they are quicker to put on.

What happens at a bridal consultation?
It is a free, private, one-hour styling session. We handpick outfits for your vision, your silhouette and your budget, and you try them on with no one waiting behind you. You book through our online calendar.

Where is the bridal studio, and when are you open?
